CORALVILLE/ALLIANCE YOUTH SOCCER LEAGUE RECREATIONAL SOCCER 7-8 YEAR OLD: PHASE TWO ![]() The Coralville / Alliance Youth Soccer League (CAYSL) is for girls and boys age seven to 10 and is the second phase in the Alliance developmental model . The children will experience weekly practice sessions for the first time and move to a slightly larger field than the Tiny Tots program. The focus remains on fun, sportsmanship and the basic fundamentals of the game. Children begin to learn more technical skill development and parent coaches have the opportunity to enjoy coaching the weekend games at this level. The Alliance will supports parent coaches with coaching clinics, curriculum, and written resources for game time management. Games are purely for the enjoyment of the children and should be treated as such by coaches and parents alike. The focus is still largely on the enjoyment of the game and the application of the practice materials. All children play equal time. Coaching by the Alliance staff (weekdays) focuses on fun, building relationships, and skill development through age-appropriate soccer activities. Game understanding is enhanced through participation in two, 30 minute, four on four games on the weekend. Each participant will receive a t-shirt. Volunteer coaches are needed for this program!
