Spring
Kickoff
It's finally time to dust of the cleats
and practice on grass again, although arguably some of you may have already done
that weeks ago due to the beautiful weather this winter! Practice starts tonight
at Scott Park and if you haven't received the schedule from your Team Manager,
you can view it online at www.icalliance.org The Scott Park schedule has adjusted
times due to sunset (no lights at Scott Park), so please pay attention to start
and finish times.
We
will utilize Scott Park this week and move to our regular practice locations the
next week, providing they are cleared for play. We are continuing to grow and
have added a second practice location in Coralville (Coralville Youth Sports
Park) at 2480 Dempster Drive http://maps.google.com/maps?q=2480+Dempster+Dr.,Coralville,IA

Inclement
Weather Policies
For Scott Park only; This is a public park, with no rain
out hotline, therefore, I will post any cancellations directly to Twitter
@icalliancesc by 4.:15pm. If you follow club news on Twitter, this will go
directly to your smartphone, if you do not, it will post immediately to the home
page of our website www.icalliance.org If there is
unforeseen (or a sudden change in) weather conditions after 4pm, coaches will
notify teams either prior to or on site and I will update Twitter as soon as I
am able. Emails will be sent to Team Managers, however, this is not the most
efficient method of informing families as it de pendson both the team manager
and you reading your email, so please, if in doubt, take responsibility and
check the website or Twitter yourself.
University of Iowa Recreational Fields; The UI Fields
manager makes a determination each day by 3:15pm and the rain out line is
updated shortly after if the fields are closed. The number is ( 319) 353
3000 and option 2. If the recording says the fields are open, be sure to
verify the date in the recording as previous days message will continue to play
until new message has been uploaded. We monitor the number when there is a
possibility of cancellation and will update Twitter/website as soon as we know,
but again, the best way for you to be sure is to check yourself.
Coralville Youth Sports Park; The rain out
line for the CYSP is (319) 248
1763. It is updated by 4pm each day, which is a little later than UI Fields,
so please be sure to check at the later time. It is entirely possible that at
some point, one will be cancelled, when the other is open and the complete
contingency plan will be sent in a separate email with a back up schedule for
each location. .

February
Players of the Month
Girls
- Grace Brown
Grace is always full of energy and a fierce competitor on the field.
She works extremely hard and is improving with every touch. During indoor State
Cup she really found her rhythm and scored several key goals and was a huge
factor in the teams overall victory at the event. Congratulations
Browny.
Boys
- Ryan Errthum Ryan and a few of his Fusion team mates
helped round out the brackets in the U15/16 boys division of our Fab 4's Futsal
tournament. The boys made it all the way to the finals and Ryan was a big part
of the success. Playing up (2 years in some games) Ryan was very quick to adapt
and realised the importance of ball movement and positioning. Quick to stretch
the field offensively and back behind the ball as soon as it was lost. Well done
Ryan. |

Tryouts
Dates and times have been set and will be posted on our tryout page
later this week. Please visit www.icalliance.org |

Camps
With the changing climate and rules in Iowa, including later league
finishes and tryouts now dominate much of June, we have decided on a change for
our annual summer soccer camp. The summer soccer camp will be July 9-13 and with
less conflicts, we will return to the day long format. We will also extend the
registration age to include 15's and 16's for some specialised camp activities.
Full details and online registration will be available online later this week.
The Striker and Keeper Camp will be August 6-9 and registration will
also be online later this week. |

Club
Fundraiser
Cathy Nepola (Alliance coordinator) and Scott McMaster (Company
coordinator) will be at practices this week handing out the Papa John's V.I.P.
Cards that we will be selling for our club fundraiser. Each player receives 15
cards and will have a couple of weeks to sell them. Details on returning cards
and cash will come from your individual team coordinator. There are fantastic
prizes for selling them cards as well as the opportunity to raise monies for
club scholarships and team needs. Your children are a reflection of you and your
enthusiasm, please support and encourage them through the
process. |
Good luck to all in your spring seasons, including our older players who
embark on another High School season at so many different High Schools across
Eastern Iowa.
