Camp Philosophy

Goal scorers are a rare commodity in the state of Iowa and throughout the United States in general. Of course, there are several players who can score goals, but few display the composure and technical ability necessary to put the finishing touches on to every attacking move. It is for this reason that the Alliance Strikers Camp will provide an invaluable experience for developing goal scorers. Players at camp will learn how to score goals in every conceivable situation; one touch, on the half volley, side volley, back to goal, distance finishing, and numbers up situations. Players will be encouraged to experiment on the field, to test their limits and develop a knack for scoring goals.

Camp Program

The Iowa City Alliance Strikers Camp is geared towards acting out the stated philosophy with each player encouraged to learn and improve their finishing skills. This will be achieved through the use of quality instruction, demonstrations and above all, player participation in fun, but challenging exercises. Each player will be encouraged to try new techniques, to overcome personal challenges and to think for themselves in order to facilitate a better and broader understanding of how to put the finishing touches on to every attacking move.

Examples of Camp Themes

• Developing composure in front of goal

• Technique/Striking the ball

• Creating scoring opportunities

• Coordination/Agility

• Individual and small group tactics

• Sportsmanship and respect for the game
