Academy Soccer U9-U10

    COMPETITIVE ACADEMY SOCCER U9-U10

The Alliance Academy program is (the competitive option of) phase three of our developmental player plan and mirrors the principles of the State-initiated and State-led program in Des Moines, where parents of U09/U10 players have the option of registering their child for Academy or Recreational soccer.  As  players advance the development ladder from recreational soccer  to the Academy level there are many differences we must attend to in order to provide an optimal experience for young players of this age. However, there are also many similarities. Our Academy staff realize the importance of consistency in coaching and we strive to follow a progressive trend of development for young players. To this end, we continue to focus on technique during our practices, as we did at the younger ages. Creating environments in which players get maximum repetitions of technical skills. Academy staff will focus on ball mastery and will look to see players demonstrate growing familiarity and comfort with a ball at their feet.

Academy players will receive two one hour practice sessions with our educated, experienced and passionate Academy staff and will compete in structured league games in the ICCR league against other area clubs on the weekends during the spring and fall as well as in area tournaments. During the winter, players will have access to skills training and game nights, as well as the opportunity to participate in the Alliance Futsal League.

The reason there are two levels of play offered at U9/U10 is to provide players with the opportunity to play with and against players of similar ability and commitment and at a level where they will experience the most success and enjoyment.

The Academy program is open to any player (boys and girls with dates of birth between 8/1/2002-7/31/2004) who have a desire to further develop their soccer skills and receive professional training.
