SUPER SIXES TOURNAMENT RULES AND CONDITIONS OF PLAYU9-U18 Divisions FIFA rules Apply Except Where StatedLOCATION: Iowa City Soccer Park (A.K.A, Kickers Fields), Sycamore Street extended, Iowa City. REGISTRATION/CHECK-IN: Teams will be required to present travel papers (for out-of-state teams), player cards, medical releases and/or proof of insurance for each player. FIELDS: Field sizes are approximately 75 x 5O yards (larger), and 50 x 35 yard (smaller). The U13 and older age brackets will play on the larger fields (#s 6 to 11); U12 and younger groups will be assigned to the smaller field (#s 12 thru 17). GOAL SIZE: 6'6" x 18' OFFICIALS: There will be one official per game. The official has discretionary power, from the time s/he enters the field of play, to caution any player, coach, parent or fan for misconduct or unsportsmanlike conduct, and if the individual persists, to disqualify them from further participation in the game and/or to suspend them from future participation in the tournament. LATE STARTS/FORFEITS: Teams should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to their scheduled start time. Teams not on site by 5 minutes after their scheduled start time will forfeit that game by a 6-0 score line (10 points). The team will be allowed to play other scheduled games provided assurances are received that the team subsequently arrive on time. UNIFORMS: Players on the same team must wear shirts of the same color. Same color shorts and socks are also encouraged. Where teams have the same (or similarly colored uniforms), the away team (2nd team listed on the schedule) will change to an alternative uniform. Pinnies will be provided if needed (numbered uniforms are not necessary). NUMBER OF GAMES: ALL teams will be scheduled to play FOUR games. GAME DURATION: 2 x 20 minute halves, with a 5 minute half time. In Championship games and/or those games being played for specific trophies i.e. 1st and 2nd Places (and 3rd and 4th Places, where applicable), the "Golden Goal" rule will take effect in overtime, which will consist of 2 x 5 minute halves. If the game is still tied after the completion of overtime, a penalty kick shootout will determine the winner. Other "play-off" games not being played for trophies/specific places, will not go into overtime or penalty kick shootouts and will end as ties. GAME BALLS: A regular size 5 ball will be used by teams ages U13 and older playing on fields #s 6 thru 11; a regular size 4 ball will be used by teams ages U12 and younger playing on fields #s 12 thru 17. KICK OFF: The home team (team listed first), will kick off in the first half. The away team will kick off in the second half. OFFSIDE: THERE IS NO OFFSIDE SUBSTITUTIONS: Free substitutions on the fly... you must touch the hand of the player coming out at the mid-field line. CARDS: A player receiving a straight red card or two yellow cards in the same game, will be automatically suspended for the next game. BEHAVIOR: The Alliance Soccer Club reserves the right to terminate an individual's or group's participation in the tournament, and to notify the relevant state association, for behavior deemed improper and/or inappropriate. POINT SCORING: 6 points for a win, 3 points for a tie, 1 point for every two goals to a maximum of 6 goals, 1 point for a shutout (MAXIMUM 10 POINTS PER GAME) TIE BREAKERS: 1. Head to head between the tied teams AWARDS: Participation Awards to all players and two coaches on each team in U10 and younger age brackets/divisions.1st and 2nd Place Awards to all players and two coaches on Champion and Runners-Up teams in U11 and older age brackets/divisions.3rd and 4th Place Awards to all players and two coaches on such teams in brackets/divisions housing EIGHT or more teams, in U11 and older age groups. CANCELLATION POLICY: The Iowa City Alliance Soccer Club reserves the right to cancel or shorten tournament games due to adverse fields conditions, inclement weather and other acts of nature beyond the club's control. In the event of such a cancellation, which results in a team or teams playing no games at all, 50% of an affected team's registration fees will be refunded. If a team or teams plays/play one game or more games before cancellation is necessary, there will be no refund/s. PROTESTS: Formal protests must be submitted to the tournament director with a $25 fee. Decisions made by the tournament director are final.
